Surinder K Aggarwal - Immediate Ex-Chairman, Current Advisor - Member - Resource Generation, Environment

A Marine Engineer graduate from Marine Engineering College, Calcutta (1966 batch), Surinder served in the Merchant Navy for 13 years before calling it quits in 1979. His last job was as Chief Engineer with the Arya National Shipping Lines, Iran. After quitting, Surinder started his own company called Care Pack Pvt. Ltd, which is in the business of manufacturing corrugated boxes.

Surinder became a member of the Kalyani Nagar Residents Association (formerly known as Nagar Road and Kalyani Nagar Mohalla Committee) in the year 1984. Since then, he has been actively & enthusiastically involved in the activities of the association.

 

 

 

D P Bhatia - Chairman

Born in Lahore, Mr Bhatia graduated in Electrical Engineering from Delhi in, 1952. He went on to work with the Government of India - Indian Inspection Service, for over 50 years in Technical Management and administrative capacity, dealing with Indian and European Industry.

Presently he is a Managing trustee with the Balwant Kartar Anand Foundation - a public charitable trust for welfare and rehablitation of destitute children as well as Lexicon International school in Kalyani Nagar.

He is currently the voice of wisdom and guiding the committee with his valuable advice.

Amar Raizada - Vice Chairman

Mr Amarjeet Singh Raizada graduated from DAV college, Dehradun. After having worked with RK Production, he moved on to a career as a Civil and Electric Contractor with Defence, as a registered Contractor.

He has been working with KNRA in different capacities since 2003. His expertise in electric and civil projects has helped the KNRA liaise with MSEB, PMC's water supply division as well as resolve electrical and other issues of residents of Kalyani Nagar.

Rachna (Anu) Aggarwal - Secretary

Born & brought up in Mumbai, Anu, as she is popularly called, moved to Kalyani Nagar 23 years ago.

Shamim - Jt Secretary

A graduate in Textiles & Clothing, followed by a course in Early Childhood Care & Education and  Yoga Teachers Course, Shamim is a multi talented personality. Her passions include music (she has passed 4 levels in Hindustani Vocal from Gandharva Mahavidyalay), dance (she has learnt Ballet, Bharatnatyam, Latin dance, Belly dance and Indian Folk dance) and reading. She enjoys creative work like Poetry, Painting, Handicraft, Embroidery, Sewing, Fashion-designing and Gardening and loves travelling.

Shamim joined KNRA in 1997, after shifting from Bombay in 1995. Working in different capacities, she is happiest when organising events (which is her primary responsibility) & compering programmes!

An eternal optimist, she strongly believes that, “Whatever the weather outside…… you must carry your OWN Sunshine wherever you go!!”

Sarika Sengar - Jt Secretary

A Human Resources professional with over 22 years in the Corporate sector, Sarika graduated with a Bachelors degree in Arts (Psychology), followed with a Masters degree in Marketing Management. Having worked with some prominent Indian and MNCs, Sarika is currently spending time with various voluntary organizations, trying to contribute in any way possible, to help make this world a better place.

Sarika has been actively associated with the KNRA since August 2012 and is actively involved in efforts to provide a quality life to the residents by focusing on cleanliness, traffic and encroachment issues.

Niamat (Tinkie) Virji - Treasurer

Better known as Tinkie, joined K.N.R.A. in the early years of inception and enjoyed setting up this area under the guidance of Mr.Surinder Aggarwal .
Professionally, Tinkie is a designer of gift items, a family buisness since forty years.
She enjoys all creative works music and art, Yoga, cooking, movies and meeting people. Also social work whenever possible. Believe firmly that LEARNING is the only way to go on in life. Married to Husband Mahroof, they have two children, Khalil and Salika Virji.

Purnima Joshi - Committee Member

Purnima has been with the publishing industry for over 15 years, editing and designing academic books and journals in the social sciences. She later moved to Corporate Communications in the corporate sector where she worked for 5 years before moving on to support smaller environmental NGOs with their publications. She has a basic degree in pure sciences and a post-grad diploma in applied science as well as a diploma in commercial art.

Purnima has been actively involved with KNRA since August 2012 and believes that Kalyani Nagar can be a role model for other communities in Pune and other cities in India. Her passion is a Clean & Green Kalyani Nagar.

Naushad Furniturewala - Committee Member

Naushad Furniturewala is a Commerce graduate. He has been associated with various social projects such as youth camps, blood donation drives, health check-up camps, traffic-related issues, closely working with PMC, local Police department and local elected representatives such as MP, MLA and local Corporators. 

Naushad was Vice-President for International Human Rights Protection Bureau for the State fo Maharashtra from 2009 to 2011.

He has been associated with KNRA for last 3 years and has been part of working committee since last two years.

Daljeet (Dolly) Raizada - Co Opted Member, Event Management, Resource Identification

Dolly is a housewife and has been associated with KNRA for last 8 years and is responsible for Membership development. Othe than this, she is also actively involved in organizing Events.

Joseph Thomas, Advisor, Traffic Planning & Parking Discipline

Joseph  is a trainer, scriptwriter, voiceover artist and graphologist, by profession.

Joseph has been a resident of Kalyani Nagar since 1993. And as a KNRA Life member, his objective is to contribute to the improvement in the quality of life of society in general and of the residents of Kalyani Nagar in particular.

Joseph spearheads the traffic sub-committee of KNRA and is actively involved in interactions with the Traffic Police, to find solutions to the ever growing traffic issues in Kalyani Nagar.
